We tackle inequality on all fronts

Fighting for equality means we can’t afford to let anyone fall through the cracks. We work locally, nationally and globally on issues that affect the LGBTQ community. HRC partners with people across demographics, industries and governments to provide leadership on how to back up pro-equality statements with real action — and create a society where none of us is left behind.

HRC’s campaigns are focused on mobilizing those who envision a world strengthened by diversity, where our laws and society treat all people equally, including LGBTQ people and those who are multiply marginalized.

Election 2020

2020 provides us the starkest choice in American history: to elect a pro-equality champion as president or to face four more years of a Trump-Pence administration that has attacked LGBTQ people at every opportunity. This critical election is a major test for our movement, and it’s not limited to the presidency: local and statewide officeholders can have as much of an impact on the daily lives of LGBTQ people as those at the federal level. With the stakes higher than ever before, we need YOUR help to defend our rights and put an end to hatred and discrimination from those in power.

HBCU Program

HRC Foundation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Program mobilizes and supports HBCUs in enhancing policies and services that promote excellence in LGBTQ inclusion, equity, and engagement. We focus on promoting individual competencies and collective action, empowering leaders and stakeholders, and building a network of committed leaders in pursuit of eliminating stigma and enriching the college experience for LGBTQ students and the entire student body.

#PrideInside

Pride started with protests led by LGBTQ people, largely transgender women of color, who confronted police brutality and discrimination in the fight for equality. Now, as we have witnessed a rash of racial violence across the country, it’s more important than ever we fight for change for all of us, not some of us. To help everyone commemorate the significance of this month, HRC is bringing #PrideInside and we want you to be a part of it.
