FNC Host Greg Gutfeld unleashes anti-gay slur on Twitter, weeks after another personality from the cable net spread dangerous anti-trans lies

WASHINGTON – The Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization, is calling on FOX News to reign in its anti-LGBT personalities following the latest in a series of disturbing remarks by “Redeye” host Greg Gutfeld and medical commentator Keith Ablow. This weekend, Gutfeld allegedly tweeted “SHUDDUP F**GOT!!” while engaging in a back-and-forth with another user. Back 2 Stonewall has a screenshot of the original alleged tweet, since deleted from Gutfeld’s feed.

“FOX News must realize that the remarks and behavior of their paid television personalities – the people whose very faces are on their channel with their logo every single day – speak volumes about their organization,” said HRC President Joe Solmonese. “People like Greg Gutfeld and Keith Ablow, who spew hatred and propagate disturbing falsities about LGBT Americans, have no business working for a news outlet that claims to be fair and balanced.”

In September, as transgender man Chaz Bono prepared to appear on the television program “Dancing with the Stars,” Keith Ablow– a member of the FOX News "Medical A-Team" and a psychiatrist – said Bono’s appearance sent a message that was “very nearly insane. It's a psychologically destructive myth and can erode our children's evolving senses of self.” He also compared the transition process – deemed by the American Medical Association to be medically necessary and effective – to "a woman who believes she will be happier without arms [who] has them removed."

HRC members and supporters can express their disagreement with Gutfeld’s rant by tweeting him directly at @greggutfeld.

The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against LGBT citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.
