If you are like most people, reviewing the beneficiaries on your 401k, life insurance or other retirement account is not something that particularly excites you. Yet, as the end of the year approaches, now is the perfect time to review your life-planning documents. If you married, divorced, moved to a new state or became a parent in 2017, it is especially important to review your plans.
As you reflect on the year past and your goals and dreams for the future, take the time to also reflect on the causes that are important in your life. Our community is facing an increasingly challenging path forward as we work to safeguard our progress and to realize our shared dream of full equality for all LGBTQ people. Because of this, many supporters like you have decided to leave a legacy gift by naming HRC as a beneficiary on their retirement account or life insurance policy. Even leaving a small percentage helps safeguard the long-term future of LGBTQ rights -- and doing so costs nothing today.
Have you or would you consider naming HRC as one of your beneficiaries? You can learn more about how to leave a legacy gift to HRC or let us know if you have already done so by clicking here.
Reviewing and/or changing the beneficiaries on your accounts often takes less than 10 minutes. Knowing that your designations accurately reflect your wishes will give you peace of mind as 2018 approaches and protect yourself and those you love.
