Human Rights Campaign & Hopscotch Unveil Art Installation in Honor of the LGBTQ+ Community

by Aryn Fields

The Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) civil rights organization, and Hopscotch, an immersive and interactive art and technology experience company, have partnered to launch an LGBTQ+ friendly art installation titled GAZE, which transports guests into a world that encourages them to see beyond their own experience and into a future that embraces love and acceptance for all.

Changing hearts and minds is the first step toward advancing equality—reaching people through art and interactive experiences is an innovative way of directly connecting to communities. This partnership with Hopscotch is an exciting opportunity to creatively portray different aspects of our community’s experiences, and I am hopeful this installation will shine a rainbow light on the beauty of the LGBTQ+ community.

For this special and limited-time installation, rainbow colors shine through designs etched into acrylic panels illuminated by an array of LED lights. The subtly shifting colors make for an ever-changing and layered experience that mirrors the ever-changing exterior world. Furthermore, the installation will change over time as progress is an integral part of an interactive art experience. Guests will be able to experience the GAZE installation at the San Antonio, Texas Hopscotch location.

Artistic expression has long been an outlet for the LGBTQ+ community to showcase our lives and I am proud that GAZE may add to that legacy. Hopscotch is thrilled to announce this unique partnership with The Human Rights Campaign—one that will allow us to continue to play an active role in moving equality forward.
