The Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) civil rights organization, and Hopscotch, an immersive and interactive art and technology experience company, have partnered to launch an LGBTQ+ friendly art installation titled GAZE, which transports guests into a world that encourages them to see beyond their own experience and into a future that embraces love and acceptance for all.
For this special and limited-time installation, rainbow colors shine through designs etched into acrylic panels illuminated by an array of LED lights. The subtly shifting colors make for an ever-changing and layered experience that mirrors the ever-changing exterior world. Furthermore, the installation will change over time as progress is an integral part of an interactive art experience. Guests will be able to experience the GAZE installation at the San Antonio, Texas Hopscotch location.
Outside of the exhibit, guests can become a member of the Human Rights Campaign in the Hopscotch Gift Shop and purchase exclusive limited edition merchandise, such as T-shirts and tote bags, either in person or online later this month. Additionally, in the Hopscotch lounge, guests can enjoy an EqualiTEA cocktail in a special edition mug.
The installation is now available to experience Thursday - Sunday at Hopscotch in downtown San Antonio, Texas. The Hopscotch Lounge and Gift Shop are always free and open to the public, guests can purchase tickets to visit the Art Gallery and see the GAZE installation here. Hopscotch is also holding a monthly ThursGayz event on the first Thursday of every month. The gatherings will feature DJs, dancing, drag queens, drink specials, disco and more. During the event, guests will get exclusive access to the entire gallery and all festivities.
The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people. HRC envisions a world where LGBTQ+ people are embraced as full members of society at home, at work, and in every community.
Hopscotch is an immersive and experiential brand that brings together artists in collaborative environments to create distinctive shared experiences. The space provides distinct experiences through the curation of local-centric, immersive, and experiential art. Hopscotch creates platforms for local, national and international artists to experiment with a wide spectrum of mediums and technology. The art studio’s aim is to elicit a sense of joy and wonder in the curated spaces, where guests may explore beyond their day to day reality.
