Clergy Call 2009 Travel Guide

How to get to and from the Airports into DC

If you are flying in for Clergy Call, you are likely flying into one of Washington, DC's thee major airports: Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Dulles International Airport (IAD) or Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI).  Please see the links and information below instructing you on how to get from the airport to your hotels or alternative housing arrangements.

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport:  From here you can easily take the yellow line metro into the Chinatown neighborhood where our Clergy Call hotels are located.  You can also take the blue line train to Metro Center which is also located nearby our hotels and host location for Monday's conference.  A cab from National Airport to almost anywhere in DC should only cost around $20.

Dulles International Airport (IAD):  While public transportation is an option from Dulles, it is a complicated one.  We instead recommend reserving a ride with the Super Shuttle; a cab into DC will likely cost over $50 each way.

Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI):  Reserving a shared ride with Super Shuttle is again recommended for BWI transportation.  A cab from the airport to DC will be around $80 one way.  It is, however, possible to take an Amtrak train from BWI into Union Station and then take the red line metro to Chinatown.

How to get around DC Using Public Transit

All Clergy Call locations are conveniently located on the DC Metro system.  Cavalry Baptist Church is located between the Metro Center and Gallery Place/Chinatown stops, which have intersections of all 5 of the metro lines.  Buses are also a cheap, reliable form of transportation around the city.  The maps and schedules for the metro and buses can be found on the DC Transit Authority website.

The entrance to Calvary Baptist Church is at the corner of H and 8th Streets in Chinatown.  When exiting the metro, exit toward streets closest in number and/or letter to this intersection.

On Tuesday, the conference will bring us to Capitol Hill.  The metro stop located closest to our first venue of the day, the Russell Senate Office Building, is the Union Station stop on the red line.
