The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarship support to students pursuing a degree or certificate in any area of study at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa who are committed to civil rights, and a diverse, inclusive campus and society.

UGLA will award scholarship grants of $1,000 or $2,000 to qualifying graduating seniors from selected Northeast Los Angeles high schools. The grants will be awarded to students who are planning to attend a four-year college or university. This scholarship is awarded to UCSD LGBTQIA+ students based on academic merit, who have made significant contribution to the LGBTQIA+ community. Preference is given to students with demonstrated financial need. Financial need students must be receiving financial aid.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual students. Significant experience with issues related to sexual orientation, romantic attraction, gender identity, and/or gender expression.

Hard science major (Chemistry, Biology and Physics) with a minimum GPA of a overall 2.50 GPA and a 3.00 in their major; have demonstrated financial need, are a self-identified member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

For LGBTQIA students. Science major with a minimum GPA of 3.0; have demonstrated financial need, are a member of the LGBT community; and have academic, campus, or community leadership experience. Preference shall be given to students attending Revelle College.
