The bipartisan Safer Communities Act responds to the epidemic of gun violence by establishing enhanced background check processes, supporting the implementation of State Red Flag Laws, and narrowing loopholes that have allowed those who abuse spouses and dating partners to buy firearms. It also increases resources and funding available for community violence interventions, mental health services and access, and school safety.
