Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY) offered an amendment to the FY 2017 Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act (H.R. 5055) to prohibit LGBTQ discrimination by federal contractors receiving funds that are appropriated by the Energy and Water appropriations bill.
The House adopted the amendment on May 25, 2016, by a vote of 223-195 (Roll Call Vote No. 258, 2nd session, 114th Congress). Democrats – 180 yes, 0 no, 8 not voting; Republicans – 43 yes, 195 no, 7 not voting.
