On April 23, 2015, the Senate voted to invoke cloture on the President’s nomination of Loretta E. Lynch to serve as U.S. Attorney General by a vote of 66-34 (Roll Call Vote No. 164, 1st session, 114th Congress). Democrats – 44 yes, 0 no, 0 not voting; Republicans – 20 yes, 34 no, 0 not voting; Independents – 2 yes, 0 no, 0 not voting.
HRC supported the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination. HRC also supported the final vote on the nomination which was approved 56-43.
