“We’ve seen it time and again for the last three years: a majority of Americans are on board with marriage equality,” said Fred Sainz, Human Rights Campaign Vice President of Communications. “This issue has gained traction quickly because fair-minded Americans are realizing marriage for all couples is about commitment and family.”

The poll comes on the heels of President Obama’s announcement that he supports same-sex marriage earlier this month and the historic NAACP Board of Directors vote to endorse marriage equality last weekend.

Today's poll also shows that 62 percent of respondents say the president's support for marriage equality won't affect their vote.
