Human Rights Campaign to Host Annual Time to THRIVE Conference

HRC’s eighth annual gathering for educators, counselors and other youth-serving professionals to be held virtually from February 9-11

Today, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, the educational arm of America’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) civil rights organization, announced that the eighth annual Time to THRIVE Conference will take place virtually from February 9-11, 2021. For information on how to register, please visit www.TimeToTHRIVE.org.

“We are excited to be welcoming youth-serving professionals from across the country to this year’s Time to THRIVE Conference. While Time to THRIVE will look different in a virtual environment this year, we are proud to be promoting safety, inclusion and well-being for LGBTQ youth just as we have at our seven previous conferences. We know that all youth-serving professionals who are able to participate in this year’s Time to THRIVE will find value in coming together to learn the best ways to support LGBTQ young people and give them the tools they need to truly thrive.”

Alphonso David, Human Rights Campaign President

HRC also announced that Alphonso David and the following advocates and allies will be featured speakers at this year’s Time to THRIVE Conference: Becky Pringle, President, National Education Association; Richard Yep, CEO, American Counseling Association; Ronn Nozoe, CEO, National Association of Secondary School Principals; Vinnie Pompei, Director, HRC's Youth Well-Being Program; Delaware State Senator Sarah McBride; Lizette and Jose Trujillo, members of HRC’s Parents for Transgender Equality National Council; Judy and Dennis Shepard, Co-Founders, Matthew Shepard Foundation; and HRC’s Youth Ambassadors.

HRC’s annual Time to THRIVE Conference is the premier event to promote safety, inclusion and well-being for LGBTQ youth, and features several workshops by numerous national and grassroots organizations dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ youth. The event brings together a wide range of youth-serving professionals to discuss best practices for working with and caring for LGBTQ youth and their families in schools, community centers, health care settings and beyond. It is co-presented by the National Education Association and the American Counseling Association. Time to THRIVE’s Conference Partners are the National Association of Secondary School Principals, YMCA of the USA and The Trevor Project. AT&T is a presenting sponsor of the event.
