Human Rights Campaign Statement on Cicilline Victory

WASHINGTON - HRC President Joe Solmonese released the following statement tonight in reaction to David Cicilline's victory in today's Democratic primary: "We are thrilled that David Cicilline has advanced to the general election and look forward to working with him to ensure Rhode Island's first district is represented by a fair-minded legislator. He has proven himself as a state representative and strong mayor and will no doubt be an active and effective Congressman in promoting equality for all people."

HRC was one of the first organizations to endorse his candidacy for Congress and has encouraged our members to support his campaign including through the site www.hrc.org/candidates.
