“It's time to turn the volume up on HIV prevention. The virus is disproportionately affecting gay and bisexual men and transgender women  -- particularly in communities of color," said Jeff Krehely, HRC's Vice President & Chief Foundation Officer.  

He added, "We commend the CDC for launching this campaign and look forward to working with them and others to raise awareness about HIV prevention and treatment and to end the stigma fueling this epidemic." 

HRC has long been involved in the fight to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic, particularly in the federal policy arena. With the creation of the Health & Aging Program last year, HRC is intensifying its efforts and engaging the public and the LGBT community around HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and efforts to reduce stigma.
