WASHINGTON - The Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization, today responded to Bexar County, TX, Democratic Party chairman Dan Ramos's recent homophobic and racist comments. Referring to the LGBT organization Stonewall Democrats, Ramos said "I liken them to the Tea Party - the Tea Party and the f*ing Nazi Party - because they're 90 percent white, blue-eyed, and Anglo, and I don't give a f**k who knows that. Just like the blacksテ they're American, but you can't get your way just because you're black." HRC issued the following statement:
"The Human Rights Campaign strongly condemns Bexar County, TX, Democratic Party chairman Dan Ramos for his homophobic and racist comments and calls on him to apologize and resign from his chairmanship. In insulting both LGBT-friendly Democrats and African Americans, the chairman has no place as a leader in his party."
