Earlier this month, six inspiring moms were honored as HRC’s Mothers of the Year. Now it’s the dads’ time to shine. Nominate a special dad in your life for HRC’s new “Father of the Year” campaign. It’s a priceless Father’s Day gift that he’ll always remember.

The campaign aims to raise the profile of gay, bisexual and transgender dads as well as acknowledge all those dads out there who are allies to the LGBT community.

Do you know a dad who is deserving of this title? To participate, visit the campaign site at ww.hrc.org/fatheroftheyear. You must submit a photo of the nominee and write a brief story telling us why the LGBT community should know about this outstanding parent. And if you want to nominate a couple raising children together, feel free to nominate both, either separately or together.

A panel of judges that includes HRC President Joe Solmonese and HRC Foundation Family Project Director Ellen Kahn will choose one winner and two runners-up. In addition to the distinction of being named “Mother of the Year,” the winner will be featured in Equality magazine, on HRC’s website and on the Back Story blog. Runners-up will have their names printed in Equality magazine and on the Back Story blog.

Nominations must be received by 5:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, June 14. Winners will be announced on Friday, June 17.
