Putting the Campaign in the Human Rights Campaign: Join HRC as We Fight For Justice This Pride and Beyond

by HRC Staff

This Pride Month, we’re making it loud and clear: Pride isn’t just a celebration—it’s a protest.

From Washington, D.C. to cities across the country, we’ve got powerful actions coming up to support and defend our LGBTQ+ community—and we want you with us. Stay safe while showing up strong: Click here for our list of protest safety best practices and check out this quick video on how to stay safe at rallies.

Here’s how we’re standing up and fighting back this Pride:

No Kings Protests Across the Country
Saturday, June 14

HRC is proud to stand with over 200 organizations nationwide to send a bold message: Our Country Has No Kings! On the same day President Trump and his allies hold a military parade in Washington, D.C., we’ll marching, chanting, and making clear that we won’t back down when  our civil rights are under attack.

Action for Andry

HRC is demanding justice for Andry Hernández Romero, the Venezuelan asylum seeker and LGBTQ+ activist who was wrongfully disappeared by the US Government under horrific circumstances. Despite legally seeking asylum in the U.S. due to credible threats against his life, Andry was mischaracterized as a gang member based on family tribute tattoos and was forcibly deported to El Salvador, where he was imprisoned without due process in a maximum-security facility used for alleged terrorists.

Our advocacy, alongside community partners and legal allies, has brought increased national and international attention to his case. HRC and coalition partners have held rallies, including a recent protest with Crooked Media in front of the Supreme Court, to demand accountability and pressure both U.S. and Salvadoran authorities to secure Andry’s safe release.

As of this week, Andry remains detained. However, momentum is building and we have generated over 18,000 contacts to legislators in support of Andry. A new legal appeal has been filed, and members of Congress are beginning to speak out. We urge supporters to stay engaged by contacting their federal representatives, sharing Andry’s story, and showing up at upcoming events – and to keep at it until Andry is free, safe, and reunited with his community.

Skrmetti Ruling

A historic Supreme Court decision in United States v. Skrmetti is expected this month — at stake: the freedom for transgender people to access life-saving healthcare and to live with dignity and equality.

When the ruling comes down, we’ll be ready. HRC will be rallying with partners nationwide in a powerful response to stand up for trans lives, for justice, and for our future. These won’t just be protests—they’ll be a testament to our strength and our unity.

In the meantime, download and print signs to bring to your local rally!

This is a pivotal moment—and we know you’re ready for it. Pride is power. Protest is love in action. Let’s make this month unforgettable.  Questions or updates from the ground? Email us at Field@HRC.org
