Today, the Human Rights Campaign responds to the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Trump v. Vance, granting New York state prosecutors access to President Trump’s tax returns in a landmark decision over presidential immunity from criminal proceedings.

“Today’s Supreme Court decision in Trump v. Vance affirms that no one is above the law, and that includes the President of the United States,” said HRC President Alphonso David. “Donald Trump has proven time and again that he believes he is not beholden to the United States Constitution. The United States is a nation of laws, built upon the Constitutional promise that no one is beyond accountability -- especially those elected to serve the American public.”
