HRC President Alphonso David's Thanksgiving Message

by HRC Staff

As I reflect on the past year, and the challenges we’ve faced together, I wanted to pause and say thank you. Thank you for being an unyielding advocate for the LGBTQ community and a dedicated leader for change. You make us better and I am grateful beyond measure that you are part of our Human Rights Campaign family. Without you, our work wouldn’t be possible.

The Human Rights Campaign family — you and all of our members and supporters — have never been more engaged. You spoke out against harmful legislation, racial injustice and the growing epidemic of transgender violence. Because of you, we elected the most pro-equality presidential ticket in the history of our nation, together we flipped two key U.S. Senate seats and retained our pro-equality majority in the U.S. House.

No matter how tough the going got, you never gave up the fight for equality. Thank you!

It is an honor and privilege to serve as the President of this incredible organization because you power it. I am indebted to you, to members of our community who have yet to find their voice, to the young and old, to our members from every background … we are all in this together.

You have shown that when we join together, we can accomplish extraordinary things. Your support is what drives progress and your trust in the Human Rights Campaign, especially during these unprecedented times, inspires me, our staff and volunteers every single day.

Along with my appreciation, I also want to make you a promise: No matter what comes next for our community, I and the entire Human Rights Campaign will have your back. We will never stop fighting for you and for what is important.

Thank you once again for keeping the Human Rights Campaign and the fight for LGBTQ equality at the top of your priorities. Enjoy your holidays!
