HRC Mississippi Rallies for Health Care

by HRC Staff

HRC Mississippi, along with other community partners such as Planned Parenthood, American Civil Liberties Union, Organize for Action, Women’s Reproductive Rights Initiative and Mississippi Faith in Action came together to celebrate after a repeal of the Affordable Care Act was again halted in the Senate.

Last week, HRC Mississippi, along with other community partners such as Planned Parenthood, ACLU, Organize for Action, Women’s Reproductive Rights Initiative and MS Faith in Action came together to celebrate after a repeal of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was again halted in the Senate. The groups also called for an end to future repeal efforts in Congress.

Community members gathered at the Mississippi State Capitol to express their joy in this victory. Without this success, thousands of LGBTQ Mississippians would be left vulnerable and denied the right of having access to equal health care. We stand strong with our community partners in diligently opposing the repeal and replacement of the ACA.

HRC Mississippi is also committed to working with health care institutions to ensure that no LGBTQ person facing health concerns has to worry about receiving inequitable or substandard care because of their LGBTQ status.
