Georgians went to cast their ballots in the Georgia primary election only to find significant issues at polling places across the state.

Today, Georgians went to cast their ballots in the Georgia primary election only to find significant issues at polling places across the state. In response, Human Rights Campaign President Alphonso David issued the following statement:

“What happened today in Georgia is absolutely unacceptable and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger should be ashamed. Raffensperger needs to own this disaster, take stock of what went wrong and rectify it ahead of November -- Georgians deserve better.

“Reports also show that communities of color bore the brunt of today’s issues. While Raffensperger’s intentions are unknown, we know that we must fight tooth and nail ahead of November to ensure that every voter has equitable access and the right to safely cast their ballot.”
