Last week, HRC Arkansas hosted its first Equality Pub Crawl in downtown Springdale. Some members met up early to enjoy Taco Tuesday at the Taquería Don Güero before migrating to participating local hot spots Black Apple Crossing, Emma Ave. Bar and Tap, Core Public House, and The Odd Soul. Attendees received a one-year membership to the Human Rights Campaign; over sixty supporters joined the festivities.
“It was really amazing to see so many people come out to support HRC in Springdale,” said James Selvey, the HRC volunteer who helped organize the event. “Springdale is not the most progressive city, but there is a passionate group of individuals who are trying to educate people and make some real change. We are thankful to have the staff on the ground here in Arkansas to help.”
The group ended the night at The Odd Soul, where a winner was drawn from the attendees to win a prize package of t-shirts from the participating bars, a growler from Black Apple Crossing, an HRC Flag, and a cinch bag.
