HRC’s Workplace Equality Program is the nationally recognized voice for advocacy, information, and guidance on LGBTQ+ workplace issues.
Advancing workplace equality for LGBTQ+ employees means looking far beyond the employee handbook—it means putting policy into practice on the factory floor, in the corporate boardroom and everywhere in between.
We do this through: the Corporate Equality Index (the country’s premier workplace LGBTQ+ inclusion benchmarking tool), the climate research we conduct regularly on LGBTQ+ workers and their experiences, and the myriad of resources we create for employers like our transgender inclusion toolkit.
Explore curated resources, toolkits, and learning opportunities to help individuals and organizations foster everyday inclusion and advance workplace equality.

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Workplace Equality Program partners with employers to advance LGBTQ+ inclusion and create safe, equitable workplaces. Through benchmarking, advisory services, training, employee engagement, and public policy guidance, the program equips leaders with strategies to make equality a lasting business advantage. Central to this work is the Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the national benchmark for LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion, which provides trusted data and a roadmap for best-in-class policies. Alongside CEI, the program offers educational opportunities and resources that empower organizations to foster inclusive cultures and support LGBTQ+ employees.
For over three decades, HRC has led efforts to ensure workplace equality, beginning in the 1990s with WorkNet and evolving into today’s comprehensive Workplace Equality Program. Since launching the CEI in 2002, HRC has expanded its services to include advisory support, training, and public policy engagement, helping businesses drive measurable progress and accountability. Through research and strategic partnerships, the program advances HRC’s mission to guarantee dignity and equality for LGBTQ+ people in workplaces and communities nationwide.
