Virginia State Registry of Medical Directives

by Admin

On March 4, 2008, Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine (D) signed legislation setting up a state registry for living wills and advanced medical directives. When the registry goes into effect on July 1, 2008, Virginia residents, including those in same-sex relationships, will be able to designate the person who is authorized to make medical decisions on their behalf if they are incapacitated.
