FAQ for Parents of Transgender Youth

As a parent supporting a transgender child, you may find yourself facing a multitude of questions and concerns about your child's journey — when to start medical transition, how to best support their emotional and physical health, what to expect as they navigate their identity and medical care. Among these questions, fertility preservation might not be top of mind, especially for parents of younger children. However, it's important to consider the options available to your child, so they can make informed decisions about their future family-building possibilities, should that be something they want later in life.

This guide is here to help you navigate these conversations with your child, your family, and their healthcare providers, giving you the tools and knowledge you need to support your child as they move forward in their transition.
