HRC president Kelley Robinson: “He knows why equality matters. He’s stood with us no matter what.”
BOSTON — The Human Rights Campaign PAC celebrates U.S. Sen. Ed Markey’s win tonight in the Massachusetts Democratic primary, laying the groundwork for another Senate term where he will continue to bring relentless energy to the fight for LGBTQ+ and working class Bay Staters.
“Ed Markey has spent decades fighting for LGBTQ+ equality, for working people, and for a more livable world,” said Kelley Robinson, President of the Human Rights Campaign. “He knows why equality matters. He’s stood with us no matter what. We were proud to endorse him this year, and when a pro-equality majority takes back the Senate this fall, we will continue to count on him as a champion for our community.”
The Human Rights Campaign PAC endorsed Sen. Markey’s re-election in April of 2026.
Sen. Ed Markey’s Record on LGBTQ+ Rights:
Equality Voters — including the more than 2.7 million in Massachusetts — are a powerful and diverse voting bloc united by support for LGBTQ+ equality. Equality Voters are younger, more racially diverse, and more female than the general electorate, and they recognize and trust the HRC brand.
HRC PAC has made significant investments in Massachusetts over the years, working to elect pro-equality champions up and down the ballot and defending hard-won protections like the passage of HB148 which protects individuals from discrimination based on gender identity. Today, HRC PAC continues to build on this legacy by mobilizing Equality Voters and supporting leaders, like Ed Markey, who are committed to ensuring every Bay Stater can live free from discrimination and with full dignity under the law.
