HRC worked to mobilize more than 1.4 million Equality Voters across the state
Tonight, Human Rights Campaign (HRC)-endorsed candidate John Hickenlooper won his election to the U.S. Senate, defeating anti-equality incumbent Sen. Cory Gardner.
Senator-elect Hickenlooper committed that should he be elected, he would co-sponsor and vote in favor of the Equality Act, crucial federal legislation that would finally guarantee explicit protections for LGBTQ people under our nation's existing civil rights laws.
John Hickenlooper defeated incumbent Cory Gardner, who received a zero on the 2020 HRC Congressional Scorecard -- a report measuring support for LGBTQ equality in the 116th Congress.
