by Charles Joughin

WASHINGTON – Today Chad Griffin, president of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) – the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization – released the following statement on Secretary Hillary Clinton’s video supporting marriage equality:

“Secretary Clinton is like millions of everyday Americans who have reflected on the issue of marriage equality and come to the conclusion that we must treat others as we would like to be treated,” said HRC President Chad Griffin. “It is the golden rule that is moving our country inexorably toward marriage for gay and lesbian couples.”

As part of the group’s Americans for Marriage Equality video campaign, Secretary Clinton spoke out in support for the right of gay and lesbian couples to legally marry.  The Americans for Marriage Equality series has included political and civil rights leaders, professional athletes, film and music celebrities, and business leaders: www.hrc.org/americansformarriageequality
