Shoppers Can Text 'SHOP' to 30644 to Receive Company Ratings On-The-Go

WASHINGTON-With the holiday shopping season in full swing, the Human Rights Campaign launched today a mobile version of its "Buying for Equality" guide - giving millions of Americans an easy way to access rankings of hundreds of popular American brands on their company's GLBT inclusiveness. By texting 'SHOP' to 30644, individuals across the nation can quickly determine which companies support equality for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans before making important purchase decisions.

"Whether you're browsing the web, picking stocks or shopping in the mall, it's never been so easy to make decisions about whom to support in corporate America," said Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese. "By purchasing products from companies supporting GLBT equality, shoppers can send a clear message that will directly impact a company's bottom line."

"By expanding the 'Buying for Equality' guide to mobile subscribers, HRC empowers shoppers to make informed choices before they reach the checkout counter," added Dane Grams, Online Strategy Director for the Human Rights Campaign. "It's just one of the ways that HRC is making it simple for supporters to take action on behalf of GLBT issues anytime and anywhere."

The mobile version of the "Buying for Equality" guide launches on the heels of the HRC Mobile Action Network. By texting the word 'HRC' to 30644 from any cell phone, supporters can join the HRC Mobile Action Network and immediately begin receiving important news and issue alerts.
