"Don’t Fall for Her Opponent’s Misleading Rhetoric - Our Democracy and Our Rights Are on the Line"

Lansing, MICHIGAN — Following last night’s gubernatorial debate in Michigan, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) - the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer civil rights organization - reaffirmed their support for Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s reelection.

Human Rights Campaign Michigan State Director Amritha Venkataraman released the following statement:

Last night Governor Gretchen Whitmer stood for all Michiganders, while her opponent peddled lies about Proposal 3, spread anti-LGBTQ+ propaganda, and still failed to accept the results of the 2020 election. Instead of dividing Michiganders, Whitmer is focused on issues like the economy, fixing the damn roads, and advancing our K-12 education - it’s why we urge all Michigan voters to support her re-election on November 8th. Don’t fall for her opponent’s misleading rhetoric - our democracy and our rights are on the line.

Paid for with regulated funds by Human Rights Campaign PAC, 1640 Rhode Island Ave. NW, Washington, DC, 20036. Not authorized by any federal candidate or candidate’s committee.
