Senator Ossoff, in his first term in office, has been a continual supporter of LGBTQ+ equality

ATLANTA — Today the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) PAC, the nation’s largest LGBTQ+ civil rights organization, announced its endorsement of U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff in his campaign for reelection. Senator Ossoff, in his first term in office, has been a continual supporter of LGBTQ+ equality, with notable votes including his support for the Respect for Marriage Act (now signed into law) and the Equality Act.

“Senator Ossoff has been on the frontlines of the fight for equality in the United States Senate. He has fought tirelessly to lift up all Georgians, including LGBTQ+ people, who are too often neglected by their own state leaders,” said HRC President Kelley Robinson. “The path to a pro-equality majority in the Senate runs through Georgia. Sending Senator Ossoff back to Washington to fight for the LGBTQ+ community is key to writing a new chapter in American history – one where freedom and equality are afforded to all. We are proud to endorse his bid for reelection.”

HRC Georgia State Director Bentley Hudgins added, “Georgians know that we have a true ally in Senator Ossoff and we are ready to work across the state to keep him in office.”

“As the Trump Administration continues to prosecute its cruel and divisive agenda, I am grateful for the support of the Human Rights Campaign,” Senator Ossoff said. “Together we will continue the shared fight to safeguard human rights, human dignity, and equality under the law for all Georgians, and together we will win in 2026.”

Sen. Jon Ossoff’s Record on LGBTQ+ Rights

  • Voted to confirm Judge Nicole Berner, a historic openly-LGBTQ+ nominee, to the Fourth Circuit of Appeals

HRC’s Commitment to Georgia

Equality Voters — including the more than 2.1 million in Georgia — are a powerful and diverse voting bloc united by support for LGBTQ+ equality. Equality Voters are younger, more racially diverse, and more female than the general electorate, and they recognize and trust the HRC brand.

HRC PAC has made significant investments in Georgia over the years, with full-time staff on the ground working to elect pro-equality champions up and down the ballot. Today, HRC PAC continues to build on this legacy by mobilizing Equality Voters and supporting leaders, like Jon Ossoff, who are committed to ensuring every Georgian can live free from discrimination and with full dignity under the law.
