HRC Endorses Caleb Frostman for Wisconsin State Senate

MILWAUKEE -- Today, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) civil rights organization, announced its endorsement of Caleb Frostman for Wisconsin State Senate District 1 in the special election to be held June 12, 2018.

“Caleb Frostman’s commitment to equality and ongoing work serving the people of Wisconsin make him the clear choice for voters,” said HRC Wisconsin State Manager Wendy Strout. “In the Wisconsin State Senate he will champion pro-equality legislation and policies, and fight for all Wisconsinites. HRC is proud to endorse his candidacy.

Said Caleb Frostman, “I believe that our communities are strongest when everyone is treated fairly and has equal opportunities to succeed, and I am so proud to have the endorsement of the Human Rights Campaign. I am committed to making Wisconsin safer and more welcoming by ending bullying and discrimination against the LGBTQ community."

A long time business leader and advocate, Frostman is a proven champion of Wisconsin’s working families, who’s committed to fighting for equality, justice and fairness. He is a staunch advocate for LGBTQ equality, who supports marriage equality and expanding Wisconsin’s non-discrimination laws to include protections on the basis of gender identity.

In Wisconsin, HRC has identified more than 560,000 “Equality Voters” -- voters who support LGBTQ-inclusive policies including marriage equality, equitable family law, and laws that would prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. HRC has prioritized investments and organizing in Wisconsin in the 2018 cycle, and has already put staff and resources on the ground in the state. Last year, HRC announced a coast-to-coast campaign called HRC Rising, which represents the largest grassroots expansion in the organization’s 38-year history.

The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people. HRC envisions a world where LGBTQ people are embraced as full members of society at home, at work and in every community.
