GLBT Senior Housing in Santa Rosa, Calif.

by HRC Staff •

HRC Family Project, Nov. 19, 2006

A retirement community for GLBT seniors will open in Santa Rosa, California, in late 2008 or 2009. The 148-unit Fountaingrove will offer varied housing types, from independent living to skilled nursing care. The facility, which requires a hefty entrance fee and monthly payments, says it has set aside 20 percent of the units for affordable housing. Fountaingrove will join a growing list of GLBT retirement communities, including those that exist or are planned in Palm Springs, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Santa Fe, N.M., and Sarasota, Fla.
