Arizona Voters To Decide, For Second Time in Three Years, on Anti-Marriage Amendment

by HRC Staff

This November, for the second time in three years, an anti-marriage amendment will appear before Arizona voters. In 2006, Arizona became the first state to defeat a marriage amendment at the polls. Arizona law already prohibits marriage by gay or lesbian couples: the November ballot measure, Prop 102, would write the discriminatory ban into the state constitution.

Arizona Together which led the successful effort in 2006, is working to defeat Prop 102 this year and keep discrimination out of Arizona's constitution.
