HRC announced its endorsement of Randy Bryce to represent the people of Wisconsin’s first Congressional District.
“Randy Bryce believes that all Wisconsinites should be treated with fairness, justice, and dignity” said HRC Wisconsin State Director Wendy Strout. “With a strong commitment to equality and a long standing devotion to his community, Wisconsinites can trust that he will be their champion every day in Congress. HRC is proud to endorse his candidacy and will work hard to turn out the pro-equality vote for him in November.”
“I am proud to receive the endorsement of the Human Rights Campaign and look forward to working with them to pass the Equality Act and ensure that every Wisconsinite is protected from discrimination," said Randy Bryce.
As a U.S. Army veteran and proud union ironworker, Randy Bryce knows first-hand the real struggles of Wisconsin’s working families. In Congress, Bryce will be a voice for the middle class and a stronger ally to the LGBTQ community than the district has seen in 20 years. Bryce is a supporter of marriage equality and the Equality Act, crucial federal legislation that would finally guarantee explicit, comprehensive protections for LGBTQ people under our nation’s civil rights laws.
In Wisconsin, HRC has identified more than 560,000 “Equality Voters” -- voters who support LGBTQ-inclusive policies including marriage equality, equitable family law, and laws that would prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. HRC has prioritized investments and organizing in Wisconsin in the 2018 cycle, with staff and resources on the ground in the state. Last year, HRC announced a coast-to-coast campaign called HRC Rising, which represents the largest grassroots expansion in the organization’s 38-year history.
