Roem is counting on us to help re-elect her so she can keep fighting for progress in Richmond.
Post submitted by HRC Field Coordinator Eriberto Velazquez
This weekend, I had the rewarding (and fun!) job of talking to my fellow Virginia voters about the importance of electing pro-equality candidates, like Danica Roem, to the Virginia General Assembly.
I’m proud to say that this was not the first time I’ve worked with Danica Roem -- I volunteered for her campaign back in 2017, pounding the pavement with countless other volunteers to help make sure Roem defeated anti-LGBTQ extremist Del. Bob Marshall. As a Virginia resident, I was inspired by Roem’s enthusiasm and campaign to help hardworking Virginians in her district and the larger community.
Roem ran on a platform of improving key quality-of-life issues in Virginia’s 13th District -- traffic, jobs, health care and schools -- as well as being committed to making Virginia a more inclusive commonwealth for all, no matter where they come from, what they look like, how they worship or whom they love. She’s kept those promises as a delegate.
Roem voted for Medicaid expansion, helping to make it possible for more than 300,000 more Virginians to have quality, affordable health care. She helped pass the largest transportation funding bill in six years, which led to Virginia’s Department of Transportation studying how to make our commutes along Route 28 safer and more efficient.
Now, Roem is counting on us to help re-elect her so she can keep fighting for progress in Richmond. HRC will continue working to turn OUT the vote to support Roem in November. To help HRC mobilize pro-equality voters across Virginia, click here.
