Arizona
Member of LGBTQ+ Community
JoAnna Mendoza is running to represent Arizona’s 6th Congressional District. She is committed to practical, unifying solutions that lower costs for families, expand access to healthcare and education, protect earned benefits, strengthen national security, and uphold responsible gun ownership. JoAnna will tackle climate change, ensure a transparent and responsive government, invest in the next generation, and defend democracy and equal rights for all.
Dr. Amish Shah, who has represented key parts of Arizona’s First Congressional District in Maricopa County as a State Representative, has a track record of being an independent voice working across party lines to put Arizona families first while standing up to extremist attacks on abortion and voting rights. In Congress, he’ll work to lower costs for hardworking Arizonans, protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, fight for abortion rights, and keep families safe.
California
Randy Villegas is running for Congress in California’s 22nd District. He is running to fight for working families, protect democracy, and bring accountable, people-first leadership to Washington. As the first in his family to earn a Ph.D., he is using his education to empower others—as a college professor, mentor, and community organizer. Whether in the classroom or out knocking doors, Randy has always believed in the power of people to make change.

As a gay man, Senator Wiener has dedicated much of his life to supporting the LGBTQ+ community. He has led the historic effort to combat the rising attack on LGBTQ+ rights, and the trans community in particular, by passing the nation's first sanctuary state law. He has authored or co-authored a number of other bills to expand LGBTQ+ protections, including a law with Senate President Toni Atkins to create a third, non-binary marker on government IDs.

Marni von Wilpert is a San Diego City Councilmember, lifelong public servant, and former prosecutor who flipped San Diego’s most conservative council district blue. She is running for Congress to tackle the skyrocketing cost of living, stop ICE’s lawless attacks on communities, protect reproductive freedom, defend LGBTQ+ rights, and make Washington work for working families and not just the wealthy.
Georgia
Senator Ossoff’s legislative achievements include laws to protect children online; to strengthen public safety; to tackle the opioid epidemic and prevent fentanyl trafficking across the Southern Border; to investigate unsolved lynchings and Civil Rights murders; to strengthen mental health care services for veterans; and to fight corruption and improve security in U.S. prisons. In his first two years in office, Sen. Ossoff passed into law more standalone bills than any other freshman Senator.
Michigan
Member of LGBTQ+ Community
Senator Jeremy Moss helped to pass Michigan’s comprehensive nondiscrimination law in 2023, and has been a forceful advocate for full equality for all. He has been a leading voice for the LGBTQ+ community and also prioritizes policies supporting local government and local communities, as well as increasing transparency in state government.
New Hampshire

New Hampshire’s first openly LGBTQ+ member of Congress, Chris Pappas is now running to keep an open Senate seat in the pro-equality column. He is working to advance key civil rights priorities—such as passing the Equality Act and securing benefits for LGBTQ+ veterans—and will continue to work to make New Hampshire more affordable for all its residents.
New York
Member of LGBTQ+ Community
A West Point graduate, Hudson Valley native, and decorated combat veteran who served under Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, Cait Conley is a barrier-breaking LGBTQ+ public servant who champions equality and freedom. She faces Republican incumbent Mike Lawler in one of the most consequential House races in the country – a race HRC is committed to winning this November.
Ohio
Longtime champion Sen. Sherrod Brown is running against an appointed, anti-equality senator in Ohio for the seat JD Vance vacated to be Trump's vice president. Sen. Brown has been a champion for LGBTQ+ rights for decades, and will stand with the community and work to pass the Equality Act.
Pennsylvania
As mayor of Scranton, Paige Cognetti’s career has been guided by the vision that government should work as hard as the people it serves. She also believes in equality for the LGBTQ+ community, and supports the Equality Act and other pro-equality legislation.
Texas
Texans have a clear choice this fall. It’s a choice between the most corrupt politician to run in Texas in living memory or an honest, engaging leader in James Talarico, who will fix real problems for families across the state. LGBTQ+ Texans deserve someone who rejects the politics of fear and division and stands up for them—for their freedom and for their futures. HRC is proud to endorse James Talarico and activate our over two million Texas Equality Voters to help bring new leadership to the Senate.
