The Laurie McBride Scholarship offers a full scholarship for a junior or senior with a declared major within SSIS. The scholarship is named for long-time LGBTQ lobbyist and activist Laurie McBride. It is funded by the Stonewall Foundation of Greater Sacramento to cultivate new advocates who, like Ms. McBride, understand that fighting for equality requires ongoing commitment and resolve. **Junior or senior with a declared major within SSIS

The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide awards to University students who identify as LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, or Queer (and/or questioning)) **Award resets annually

Awarded to select students who are able to demonstrate their support of a marginalized group and/or participation in an organization representing a marginalized group. Students must demonstrate financial need through completion of the FAFSA (or FAFSA Forecaster). Priority deadline for the application is February 15, we will continue to award until funds are exhausted. To renew this scholarship (up to four consecutive years), recipients must be enrolled as a full-time student at Washburn University, maintain a 2.00+ GPA, continue to demonstrate financial need, and complete a minimum of 24 credit hours each academic year. **Deadline varies

This fund is established to recognize scholastic achievement, to encourage continued progress, and to provide assistance to students in financing their education in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Student must be full-time undergraduate student enrolled in the Junior Year in Munich Program with a minimum 3.0 GPA in the student’s major. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. This endowed scholarship is to support students at WSU who identify as a sexual or gender minority as well as their allies. The goal of this scholarship is to educate individuals about issues concerning sexual and gender minorities and to create an atmosphere of support and nurturing for all students at WSU **Applications are requested.

Joe Davis graduated from WSU in 2010 with B.A. in Organizational Development and a minor in Business Administration. He’s worked over a decade in the tech industry, with most of those years at Google. Returning on a visit to Pullman years later, Joe was struck by the increased representation and resources available for the LGBTQ+ community. Extending these efforts to the Carson College of business, he wanted to provide additional scholarship support. **Deadline likely in April

The Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation Resource Center (GIESORC) partners with the Washington State University Scholarship Office to award scholarships to students who are active in, and in support of GIESORC programs, mission, and vision for creating a more inclusive and supportive campus climate for GLBTA student leaders. **Deadline likely in March
