MASSACHUSETTS SENATE PASSES ANTI-CONVERSION THERAPY BILL, HEADS TO CONFERENCE COMMITTEE BEFORE GOING TO GOV. CHARLIE BAKER’S DESK: If enacted, Massachusetts would become the 16th state to protect youth from this egregious practice. Baker has said he is inclined to support this legislation. “We laud and thank those who voted in the Massachusetts legislature to pass -- in bipartisan fashion -- these vital and potentially life-saving protections in the Bay State,” said HRC National Field Director Marty Rouse.

  • And in Congress, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-N.Y.) introduced a bill that would ban use of taxpayer funding for so-called “conversion therapy.” More from NBC.

GOOGLE PULLS DANGEROUS  “CONVERSION THERAPY” APP FROM STORE, HEEDING CALLS FROM HRC, OTHER LGBTQ GROUPS: Given the action late Thursday, Google’s 100-point rating will be restored on HRC’s 2019 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) released earlier in the day. The score had been suspended because Google had failed to act on calls for the app’s removal. “We applaud Google for making the right decision to pull this app from their online store,” HRC President Chad Griffin said. “So-called conversion therapy is a debunked practice that’s tantamount to child abuse and is proven to have dangerous consequences for its victims.
