HRC endorses Jared Polis for governor of Colorado; why Kavanaugh is bad for LGBTQ people.

HRC ENDORSES JARED POLIS FOR GOVERNOR OF COLORADO: “For nearly a decade in Congress, Jared Polis has fought to advance fairness and equality in Colorado and across America,” said HRC President Chad Griffin (@ChadHGriffin). “He is a proven leader who will take his commitment to securing full equality to the governor’s mansion and fight to make Colorado stronger for the state’s hardworking families. HRC is proud to endorse Jared Polis for governor and we look forward to helping him make history this November.” If elected, Polis will make history as the first openly gay man elected governor in the nation. WHY TRUMP’S SCOTUS PICK BRETT KAVANAUGH IS BAD FOR LGBTQ PEOPLE: HRC Legal Director Sarah Warbelow tells the Associated Press that if Kavanaugh were to form a court majority for overturning the landmark Roe v. Wade decision on abortion and the right to privacy, "that would have implications including on LGBTQ cases that were built upon that legal theory." During his confirmation hearing for the D.C. Circuit, Kavanaugh refused to answer whether he believed Roe was correctly decided -- but once on the bench wrote that his colleagues had “badly erred” by determining that an undocumented immigrant teen should have access to an abortion. HRC MOURNS SASHA GARDEN, BLACK TRANS WOMAN MURDERED IN ORLANDO: Garden, 27, was found in her home on Thursday morning. Her friends say she dreamed of becoming a stylist.
