💗💜💙 HRC RELEASES BI+ COMING OUT GUIDE IN COMMEMORATION OF BISEXUAL+ VISIBILITY DAY: “We celebrate the beauty, resiliency, and diversity of the bi+ community — no matter who you are or whom you love, your identities are valid, and you deserve the right to live openly as your authentic selves,” said HRC Interim President Joni Madison (she/her). “The bi+ community faces misguided stigma, skepticism and erasure, including from LGBTQ+ people, and often feel invisible or misunderstood within their own community. That’s why having the courage to live authentically, true to ourselves, is an immeasurable gift that we can give, not only to ourselves, but the entire community.” More from HRC.

HRC MOURNS DEATH OF BRIANNA ULMER, 25-YEAR-OLD BLACK TRANSGENDER WOMAN KILLED IN CHICAGO, IL: HRC is deeply saddened hear of the death of Briana Hamilton, a 25-year-old Black transgender woman who was fatally shot in Chicago, Illinois on September 17. Her mother writes that “Brianna was loved by many” and she was “amazing” and that “her memory will forever live on.” Hamilton’s death is at least the 37th violent death of a transgender or gender non-conforming person in 2021 and the fourth in Chicago. TYLER TITUS FOR COUNTY EXECUTIVE: “Dr. Tyler Titus has worked tirelessly on behalf of students, teachers, and families in Erie County and across Pennsylvania,” said HRC Pennsylvania State Director Ryan Matthews (he/him). “Their election and service as the Erie County Executive would make the county a safer and more equitable place for all people to live..” More from HRC and Your Erie News.

$2 MILLION IN NEW GRANTS AIMED FOR LGBTQ+OWNED AND ALLY RESTAURANTS: “America’s 1.4 million LGBTQ+-owned business owners have shown incredible resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic, and now, in turn, we can help them recover stronger than ever,” said NGLCC Co-Founder and President Justin Nelson.
