HRC ON TRUMP’S SUPREME COURT NOMINEE SHORTLIST: Said HRC President Alphonso David, “This shortlist is nothing but a wishlist from groups such as the Federalist Society and The Heritage Foundation, which have a track of record of hostility towards progress, tolerance and equality. And, if the past is prologue, he may once again nominate people who would deny legal protections for LGBTQ people, take away the health care provided by the Affordable Care Act, undermine the fundamental right to vote, erode core civil rights laws and fail to value the lives, needs and Constitutional rights of the LGBTQ community. ” More from HRC.
HRC ANNOUNCES THE ENDORSEMENT OF 19 ADDITIONAL TEXAS STATE LEGISLATIVE CANDIDATES: “We’re excited to announce our support of an impressive slate of pro-equality candidates in Texas,” said HRC Texas State Director Rebecca Marques (@_RebeccaMarques). “By working hard, partnering with local leaders, and fighting for equality in this year’s election, we can and will deliver the meaningful change LGBTQ Texans need.” More from HRC.
FRIDAY FEATURE -- HRC PRESIDENT IN THE AMERICANO: “WE CAN CHOOSE HOPE”: “We are not only in a battle for the soul of our nation; it’s a battle for our lives. This administration has callously ignored the needs of the most marginalized among us at every possible opportunity, including LGBTQ Latinx people,” wrote David in the op-ed. “This November, we can turn the page on an administration defined by anti-Latinx sentiment, anti-Blackness and anti-LGBTQ animus. We can choose Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and work to restore dignity and humanity to this country and to all of our lives.” Read the full piece from The Americano.

Now, Bob Woodward revealed that at the outset of the COVID-19 public health crisis, President Trump deliberately minimized the impact of the virus and global pandemic. Trump, and COVID-19 Taskforce Chair Pence, knew the virus was more deadly than the flu but intentionally misled the American public. This negligent behavior is a pattern. More from HRC.
