Recognizing Transgender Day of Remembrance; LGBTQ+ elder care facilities open nationwide

RECOGNIZING TRANSGENDER DAY OF REMEMBRANCE: “Each person we have lost is irreplaceable to the many who knew them and loved them and who will miss them every day,” said HRC Interim President Joni Madison (she/her). “And their loss leaves a hole in our movement, our nation, and our world that can never be filled.”

HRC CONDEMNS RITTENHOUSE VERDICT: “The Kyle Rittenhouse verdict is a travesty. But it will not stop the work to create a more inclusive, multiracial democracy,” said HRC Interim President Joni Madison (she/her). “As we mourn, let's keep the families in our hearts, and our eyes on the goal of dismantling white supremacy. LGBTQ+ ELDER CARE FACILITIES OPEN NATIONWIDE, BUT DISCRIMINATION PERSISTS: “It is the case now that in almost all states there are one or more elder care facilities that have been trained through our SAGECare program,” said Michael Adams, CEO of SAGE. “But it’s nowhere near what it needs to be,” he said. “It needs to be that there are welcoming elder care facilities in every single community in this country” for LGBTQ+ elders.
