INSURRECTION AT THE CAPITOL
HRC CONDEMNS YESTERDAY’S VIOLENCE AT THE CAPITOL BY ARMED PRO-TRUMP INSURRECTIONISTS: Despite Trump and his cronies attempting to bully and intimidate our democracy with terrorism, threats and lies, the will of the people prevailed. But those responsible must be held accountable. Now, it’s time for Biden and Harris to lead this country forward to a brighter future. More from HRC.
Let's face the truth: If not for #whiteprivilege, the armed pro-Trump insurrectionists today would have endured the same police brutality that peaceful Black Lives Matter protesters faced last spring. @JoyAnnReid is right. https://t.co/NAKa8cn1nx

MEMBERS OF THE LGBTQ CAUCUS HAVE ALSO CALLED FOR INVOKING THE 25TH AMENDMENT AND FOR IMPEACHMENT: Members of the LGBTQ Caucus, including Rep. David Cicilline, Rep. Mark Pocan, Rep. Sharice Davids, Rep. Angie Craig, Rep. Ritchie Torres and Rep. Mark Takano, have called for invoking the 25th Amendment. Others, including Rep. Takano and Rep. Mondaire Jones, have also called for impeachment.
A BRIGHT SPOT ON A DARK DAY -- REV. RAPHAEL WARNOCK AND JON OSSOFF WIN SENATE RUNOFF RACES, SECURING A DEMOCRATIC MAJORITY IN THE SENATE: Warnock and Ossoff committed that should they be elected, both would co-sponsor and vote in favor of the Equality Act, crucial federal legislation that would finally guarantee explicit protections for LGBTQ people under our nation’s existing civil rights laws. More from HRC on Rev. Warnock and Ossoff.
