CDC STUDY SHOWS LGBTQ PEOPLE AT HIGHER RISK OF COVID-19: HRC’s 2020 research supports the CDC’s findings and shows similar findings for transgender people. The CDC also called for more data collection on sexual orientation and gender identity in order to improve knowledge about health disparities. More from ABC11.

DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE SAYS TRANSGENDER PEOPLE CAN NOW BEGIN ENLISTMENT FOLLOWING BIDEN’S EXECUTIVE ORDER: “If you can meet all the other requirements, physical fitness and your academics, and all the other requirements to enlist in a branch of the armed forces, transgender identity will not be a bar,” said Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby. TRANSGENDER ACTIVISTS IN THE SOUTH ARE BATTLING HOUSING INSECURITY AND HOMELESSNESS AMID COVID-19: Many transgender people, especially transgender people of color, continue to face ongoing discrimination and compounded challenges in the middle of a pandemic.
