LGBTQ Training

HRC Foundation and our partners offer over 60 different free online, on-demand CME accredited LGBTQ training options to all staff at facilties participating in HRC's annual Healthcare Equality Index (HEI).  These training options include both interactive eLearning courses and recorded webinars.  Topics range from the basics of LGBTQ Patient-Centered Care to more specialized topics for clinicians. HRC Foundation HEI Trainings on The CAL offers several interactive eLearning series to meet the HEI training requirements.

The National LGBT Health Education Center offers live and on-demand webinars on a wide variety of topics to meet the HEI training requirements.

Veterans Health Administration offers their staff trainings that have been pre-approved to meet the HEI requirements.

In addition, with pre-approval, a healthcare facility may receive credit for their own training course(s) on LGBTQ culturally competent care and/or specific LGBTQ health topics. Note for HEI Survey Submitters:  The partner agencies listed above will provide the HEI team with information on all of the people from HEI participating facilities that complete LGBT trainings.  This information will be loaded into our database on a regular basis and you will be able to check how many training hours have been completed for your facility by click on the link in the Training section of the survey where it says "Use this link to check your organization's current training hours."
