Equality Award Recipient
The son of a Desire streetcar operator and born in the 9th Ward, Arthur Roger has been an integral, influential, and inspirational member of the New Orleans community his entire life. His contributions to the local arts scene in its fledgling days helped transform it into the successful and bustling community it is now. Mr. Roger has also driven the development of the gay community by freely sharing his success, and his unique talent has helped shape several of our traditions. Mr. Roger was an active member of the HRC Board of Governors and was a founding member of the very first HRC Louisiana Dinner in 1994.
HRC is excited to welcome two very special celebrity guests to the Louisiana Dinner. Jonathan Del Arco is a political, environmental, and gay rights activist. Jonathan has been an outstanding advocate for gay youth working to improve the educational environment for LGBT elementary and secondary students in the United States. Most recently he has had a regular role as Dr. Morales on TNT’s The Closer and the spinoff series – Major Crimes. Plus Grammy-award winner Estelle will make a special performance from the main stage.
