HRC’s Athletes for Equality program is proud to participate with the Marine Corps Marathon for a third consecutive year as an official charity partner of the 38th annual running of the race.  We’ve had over 100 athletes participate in the first two years, and this year anticipate having a full team of 60.  Our athletes come from all experience levels and from over a dozen states.  Many of our participants consider themselves athletes first and supporter of equality second, and a vehicle like becoming an Athlete for Equality helps them help contribute to a cause near and dear to them doing something they love.
"I am continually inspired by all athletes who push themselves, very often for the first time, in the name of equality and our shared cause," said HRC Senior Membership Outreach Manager Tommy Lodge, who manages the Athletes for Equality program.
The Marathon is sold out, so the only way to participate would be to participate at this point is through a charity partner like HRC.  There are a few spots still open should you decide to push yourself in the name of equality.  When you sign up as an Athlete, you will receive training plans, DC-based team long runs, Athletes for Equality gear, and professional fundraising support to help you meet your fundraising minimum.  Note that all donations benefit the important work of the Human Rights Campaign and are fully tax-deductible.

Don’t delay – all registrants need to register by this Friday, August 2nd.  For questions, please email
