Post submitted by Gregory Miles, HRC Family Project Internall children all families seal, camelot care centers

The Human Rights Campaign is proud to announce that Camelot Care Centers Inc. received the All Children – All Families Seal of Recognition. We were overjoyed to present the seal to Executive Director Jason Keeler at their headquarters on Thursday, November 7.

By presenting Camelot Care Centers Inc. with this seal, we recognize their hard work and dedication in achieving our 10 Benchmarks of LGBT Cultural Competency in the field of child welfare. Through their efforts, they have furthered the movement to unite LGBT prospective parents with waiting children, and LGBT youth with accepting families in Illinois. Just in time to celebrate victory for marriage equality in their state.

Camelot Care Centers Inc. provides a broad range of youth and family services from their six locations in Illinois: Springfield, Peoria, Rockford, Gurnee, Itasca and Matteson. They are a state-licensed Child Welfare Agency with particular success working with youth in need of greater structure and a more flexible approach to therapeutic interventions in the foster or family home. Furthermore, after taking the steps to achieve their Seal of Recognition, they have completed ACAF training on how to improve their interactions with, and services to, the LGBT community.

All these qualities, and more, make Camelot Care Centers Inc., a shining example to other agencies in the field who want to accomplish what they have accomplished on behalf of the LGBT community. We here at the Human Rights Campaign applaud their efforts, and look forward to many more agencies earning the All Children – All Families Seal of Recognition in the future.
