Post submitted by Trevor Chandler, former HRC Associate Regional Field Director

Recently, I joined our friends and allies to speak at the Add the Words rally in Boise, Idaho, to help pass comprehensive non-discrimination protections for the LGBT community.

In solidarity with our partners at the ACLU, Pride Foundation, Planned Parenthood, Add the Words, The Center and many others, I spoke against a rumored 'compromise' bill that may leave our transgender brothers and sisters behind or possibly leave out public accommodations. HRC and the coalition strongly oppose both of the conditions.

State Rep. Mellisa Wintrow, transgender model and activist D.W. Trantham and Add the Words Chair Lisa Perry also spoke at the rally. Even in the cold Boise rain, the crowd of several hundred were energized and excited to move the ball forward after getting the first hearing ever on non-discrimination legislation next year.
