HRC Night Out at the Ball Game

August 16 was HRC Night at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi.

August 16 was HRC Night at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi. Approximately 40 HRC members and staff attended the baseball game to watch the Mississippi Braves take on the Chattanooga Lookouts.

The night was both a great opportunity for fun and fellowship, and an important chance for visibility as LGBTQ and allies joined together with people from all over Mississippi. HRC’s even received a shoutout over the loudspeaker and on the jumbotron.

Events like this are essential for community building, and  they serve to engage more people in the important work for equality in Mississippi and beyond. Something like a baseball game can turn a fan into an advocate for equality over the course of just one evening.

We look forward to this becoming an annual tradition as we continue to reach out to our community to join in the fight for LGBTQ equality across Mississippi.
